Where she stood
She built a significant share of the financial wealth in her family’s business. Everyone in the family knew it. No one said it. And she still felt she owed them, without understanding why.
By the time she came to us, she was burned out and had stepped away for a year-long sabbatical.
“I feel lost.”
What she chose
We began with The Whole Picture: what was really happening for her, and why. One thing became clear. When it came time to leave, she could not negotiate, because in that room she was a daughter first.
Then Dear Money, Let’s Talk. She worked through her own sense of value and contribution, and what was true for her. She got clear that she did not want to keep running the business. What remained was how to tell her family, and how to negotiate a seat on the board, keep her salary, and move into what was next.
Then Finishing Well. Her role, her pay, and her exit were negotiated as an adult, not only as a daughter. To close the chapter, she wrote a letter to her family and read it aloud to them at a ceremony on the beach. She said what she had never said, and they heard her.

Then Life Design. She got clear on her values and how she would live by them in this next chapter: what she would do, and what she would no longer do. Then she named what she had longed for and dreamed of. She wanted to have a baby, on her own.
We walked with her through every step: preparing herself and her body through a rite of passage on the land, planning her blessingway, a gathering of women to honor a mother before birth, and being there as her birth partner.

Her blessingway

What stands now
She stepped out of running the business on her own terms, with her income and a seat on the board. And she is raising her child in the life she designed.

In her words
“I love my life.”
If you or someone you know is standing where she stood, we would be glad to talk with them.
If someone you advise is standing here, we would be glad to talk with you first.
