Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
What you share with us stays with us. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain terms, what LivWeal® Practice, LLC (“LivWeal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit livweal.com or work with us, why, and the choices you have.
Introduction
This policy covers livweal.com (the “Website”) and the personal information we hold about the people who visit it, write to us, subscribe to Legacy Letters, request a conversation, or work with us.
We never sell your information, and we never share it without your permission except as described here.
This policy is written to meet the data protection laws that apply to us, including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA).

How We Collect Information
A) What you give us. You give us information when you:
- Request a conversation through our form
- Subscribe to Legacy Letters
- Write to us by email or phone
- Become a client, or join LivWeal® Collective
- Are introduced to us by someone, and tell us who sent you
B) What the Website collects as you use it. Like most websites, ours collects some technical information automatically, such as your device, browser, and the pages you visit. Section 4 explains exactly what and how.
C) What others share with us. We may receive information from:
- Someone who refers you to us, with your agreement
- A professional you have asked us to work alongside
- Our payment provider, when an invoice is paid
Platforms we use. We use a small number of trusted platforms to run the Website and our practice. Each processes your information only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy and security terms:
- Webflow, to host the Website
- Fillout, for our conversation request form
- Ontraport, to manage our contacts and send Legacy Letters
- QuickBooks Online, to send invoices and receive payment
- Calendar, email, and video tools, to schedule and hold conversations
- Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager), to count visits and understand what is read
Payments. We send invoices through QuickBooks Online, and payment is usually made by ACH or wire. Your bank details are handled by QuickBooks and your bank. We keep only the record of the invoice and payment.
Scheduling. When you choose a time, we use your name, email, time zone, and preferences only to arrange the conversation.
What We Collect, and How We Use It
We collect only what the work needs.
When you request a conversation: your name, how you would like to be addressed, your email, a phone number if you choose to give one and whether we may leave a message, what brought you to us, your preferred times, and who referred you, if anyone. We use this to reply to you, arrange the conversation, and, if you ask, thank the person who sent you.
When you subscribe to Legacy Letters: your name and email, to send you the letters.
When you become a client: what you choose to share in our conversations, and the contact and invoicing details needed to work together. We do not hold your money, your accounts, or your documents, and we do not ask for balances or valuations.
Our legal basis (GDPR). If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on:
- Your consent, for example to receive Legacy Letters
- The performance of a contract, when you are a client
- Our legal obligations, for example tax records
- Our legitimate interest in running and improving the Website, balanced against your rights
A) Website logs
When you visit, our hosting provider records standard technical information to keep the Website running and secure, such as:
- Your IP address
- Your browser and device type
- The pages you visit and links you select
- The approximate region you visit from
- The date and time of your visit
- The page that led you here
B) Cookies
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies cannot run programs or carry viruses.
We use cookies to keep the Website working, and, through Google Analytics, to count visits and understand which pages are read. Analytics loads only after you begin to use the page.
No advertising trackers. We do not use advertising pixels or remarketing, and Google Analytics runs with its advertising features turned off. Nothing tracks you on the page where you request a conversation.
Google Analytics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is set. The Website will still work if you do.
C) Information we hold carefully
We do not ask for sensitive information through the Website. In our conversations, you may choose to tell us about your health, your family, a loss, or your beliefs. Where you do, we hold it with particular care, use it only for our work with you, and never share it without your permission.
When we work with couples and families, what each person shares is held exactly as they direct: kept private, or brought into the shared conversation, at their choosing.
We share personal information only:
- With the platforms listed in section 3, to provide their service to us
- With a professional we introduce to you, only after you approve the introduction
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety
- With a successor, if LivWeal were ever to be reorganized or transferred, under the same protections
If you choose not to share certain information, we may not be able to provide what you have asked for.
Changing Your Mind
You can withdraw your consent at any time, for any reason. Use the unsubscribe link in any Legacy Letter, or write to hello@livweal.com, and we will stop.
Email Open Tracking
Our email platform may use a small invisible image to show whether a Legacy Letter has been opened. We use this only to understand which letters are read. Most email apps let you turn off images, which stops it.
How We Stay in Touch
We write to you only in the ways you have agreed to.
Legacy Letters. You receive them only if you subscribe. We hold your name and email for that alone, never add you to anything else, and never add anyone to Legacy Letters in their name. You can leave with one click.
After a first conversation. We write again only if you say yes, and only on the date you agreed.
Every message is from a person. A person replies to every message within one business day, and every note is signed by a name.
Calls and texts. If you give us a phone number, we use it only to arrange and hold your conversations. We leave a message only if you have said we may. We do not send marketing texts, and we never share your number with anyone for their marketing.
Opting out. Every Legacy Letter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also reply to any message, or write to hello@livweal.com.
Seeing Your Information
You can ask to see the information we hold about you at any time by writing to hello@livweal.com.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for responding to it, so the Website does not change its behavior when it receives one. The opt-outs in section 4 remain available to you.
Correcting or Deleting Your Information
To correct, update, or delete your information, or to raise a concern, write to hello@livweal.com.
How We Protect Your Information
Our client workspaces and systems are designed and maintained with security in mind. Access is limited to the people who need it to work with you.
Where technology assists our work, people lead it. Nothing you share goes into tools that keep it or learn from it, and everything that reaches you was made, reviewed, and stood behind by a person. We do not record our conversations.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help by keeping your own passwords private and using a secure browser.
How long we keep it. We keep personal information only as long as we need it to:
- Work with you
- Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations
- Resolve a dispute or enforce an agreement
After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Information that crosses borders. We are based in the United States, and our platforms may store information in the United States or elsewhere. Where we transfer information from the EU or UK, we rely on recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Links to Other Websites
The Website links to other sites, including research sources and LivWeal Foundation. We do not control them, and their own privacy policies apply.
Combined, Anonymous Information
We may use combined, anonymous information, such as how many people read a Legacy Letter, to understand and improve our work. It cannot identify you.
Children
The Website is for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child has given us information, write to hello@livweal.com and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email if we have your address, or with a clear notice on the Website.
Language
This policy is written in English. Any translation is for convenience only, and the English version governs.
Your Rights
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to:
- Be told how we use your information, which is what this policy is for
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Have your information deleted, unless we must keep it by law
- Ask us to pause using your information
- Receive your information in a common format
- Object to how we use your information, including for direct marketing
- Know about any automated decision-making. We do not use any.
To use any of these rights, write to hello@livweal.com. There is no fee. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that your information reaches no one else. We reply within one month, or tell you if we need longer.
You may also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Access that information
- Have it deleted
- Have it corrected
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information
- Not be treated differently for using these rights
We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
In the last twelve months we may have collected these categories:
- Identifiers, such as name and email
- Commercial information, such as invoices
- Internet activity, such as pages visited on the Website
- Approximate location, from your IP address
- Professional information, where you choose to share it
Information we use to serve clients. When you work with us, we use your information to schedule conversations, keep your private workspace running, and provide the engagement you chose.
